Bar Manager Marco Dongi has crafted each cocktail to match a historical period of the mansion. Each drink is inspired by beverages invented in each era, infused with international influences that have shaped the mansion’s legacy. The crafted menu showcases 16 signature cocktails and 4 mocktails, divided into four phases in the history of The House on Sathorn, taking guests on a journey from the present to the past.

1999 – Today: THE PRESENT
Entering the 21st century, The House on Sathorn is a historic colonial-era property in Bangkok, now part of the W Bangkok.
The House on Sathorn blends its historical charm with modernity. Rediscover the classics with a modern twist: Four iconic cocktails—Penicillin, Eastside, Paper Plane, and Gin Basil Smash - are reimagined with bold flavors and unexpected Thai ingredients.
1948 – 1999: EMBASSY ROW
In this period, the mansion was transformed into the first Russian Embassy in Thailand therefore, Sathorn Road's history is a preferred address for foreign embassies.
The menu honors this period with creative reinterpretations of the international favorites such as Piña Colada, Espresso Martini, Margarita, and Bull Shot, featuring unexpected ingredients and bold Thai spices.
1926 – 1948: HOTEL ROYAL
Transporting guests back to the era of the 1920s when Madame Staro, an Italian lady transformed the residence into the ultra-luxurious, Hotel Royal.
This era celebrates the golden age of mixology with creative twists on four timeless classics—the bold Negroni, the savory Bloody Mary, the effervescent Spritz, and the sparkling Sbagliato. Each cocktail blends tradition with innovation, paying homage to the rich history of cocktail culture.
1888 – 1926: HISTORY OF SATHORN
During this period, The House on Sathorn is intertwined with the history of Sathorn Road itself. Constructed in 1889, during the reign of King Rama V, it was originally a private home owned by Yom Bisalayaputr (or Chao Sua Yom), a wealthy Chinese businessman who engineered the digging of the Sathorn Canal.
In tribute to this era, Bar Sathorn celebrates the origins of the cocktail scene, which emerged in the late 1800s with some of the first iconic drinks. Honoring this rich history, the menu features four timeless classics—Bee's Knees, Tuxedo, Ramos Gin Fizz, and Adonis—each reimagined with a unique twist.
